What are the different types of brow treatments? A honest guide from your Eastbourne brow specialis

If you've ever sat down to book a brow appointment and found yourself completely overwhelmed by the options, you are absolutely not alone. Brow treatments have come a long way in the last few years and what was once a simple wax and tint is now a whole world of techniques, finishes, and results.

So let me break it all down for you. No jargon, no pressure, just a straightforward guide to what's available at Mali Beauty, what each treatment does, and how to work out which one is right for you.

Brow Tint

Let's start simple. A brow tint is exactly what it sounds like. A semi permanent colour is applied to your brow hairs to make them darker, more defined, and more visible. If you have fair, sparse, or greying brows, a tint can make an enormous difference to how your face looks without changing the shape at all.

It takes around thirty minutes, it's one of the most affordable treatments I offer at £15, and the results last a few weeks depending on your skin type and how quickly your brows grow. It's also a lovely add on alongside other treatments if you want a little extra definition.

Brow Shape

Also thirty minutes and £15, a brow shape is about defining and tidying the brow rather than changing the colour. I'll remove any stray hairs and work with your natural brow to create a clean, flattering shape that suits your face.

If you've never had your brows professionally shaped before, this is often a great place to start. It's low commitment, immediately noticeable, and gives you a really good idea of what your natural brows can do with a little attention.

Brow Lamination

This is one of the most popular treatments I do, and once you understand what it does it's easy to see why. Brow lamination uses a gentle chemical process to restructure the brow hairs, allowing them to be brushed up and set into place. The result is that full, fluffy, brushed up brow look that is absolutely everywhere right now.

If your brows are unruly, grow in different directions, or you've always wanted that feathery texture but your hairs just won't cooperate naturally, lamination is genuinely a bit of a revelation. Results last around six to eight weeks.

Starting from £40 for a full brow lamination, and £25 for a maintenance appointment when you're keeping on top of an existing treatment.

Signature Brows

This is my own treatment and the one I'm most proud of. At £28 for an hour, Signature Brows is a fully bespoke service built around your face shape and natural brow growth.

Rather than following a fixed template, I map the treatment to your specific features, working out the ideal shape, thickness, and arch for you as an individual. It combines shaping and tinting and is designed for anyone who wants brows that look genuinely tailored rather than just tidied.

If you're not sure where to start, this is often the treatment I'd suggest first. It gives me a chance to really look at your brows and work out what they need, and it gives you a result that feels completely your own.

Hybrid Brows

At £35 for an hour, hybrid brows combine tinting with lamination to give you both colour and that lifted fluffy texture in one appointment. It's the best of both worlds really, and a great option if you want a more complete result without booking two separate treatments.

The finish is natural but polished, and because everything is done together the colour and the lift are perfectly balanced to complement each other.

Korean Brow Lift

This is the premium treatment in my brow menu at £50 for an hour, and it genuinely delivers something a little different. The Korean brow lift is a more advanced lamination technique that creates a softer, more natural looking lift compared to a traditional lamination. The hairs lie more smoothly and the overall effect is extremely polished without looking overdone.

If you want brows that look effortlessly groomed rather than dramatically styled, this is the one. It's particularly popular with clients who want a refined everyday look rather than the fuller fluffier finish of a standard lamination.

So which one is right for you?

Honestly, it depends on your brows, your lifestyle, and the finish you're going for. Here's a rough guide to help you think it through.

If you want something quick and simple, start with a brow tint or brow shape.

If you want fluffy, full, brushed up brows, brow lamination or hybrid brows will get you there.

If you want a natural polished finish that looks effortless, the Korean brow lift is worth considering.

If you want something completely tailored to your face and you're not sure what that looks like yet, book in for my Signature Brows and we'll work it out together.
