The Mali Beauty Guide to Glowing Skin This Summer
Summer in the UK might not always mean scorching heat, but UV exposure, humidity, and the urge to wear less makeup can all take their toll on your skin. Here is our guide to keeping your complexion healthy, hydrated, and glowing all season.
Switch to a Lighter Moisturiser
Heavier creams designed for winter can feel suffocating in warmer months and may contribute to breakouts. Consider switching to a gel based or lightweight lotion that still provides hydration without blocking pores.
SPF Is Non Negotiable
We cannot stress this enough. Daily SPF is the single most effective anti ageing and skin protecting step you can take. In summer, aim for SPF 30 as a minimum and SPF 50 if you are outdoors for extended periods. Reapply every two hours.
Double Cleanse in the Evening
After a day of sun, sweat, and SPF, your skin needs a thorough cleanse. Use an oil based cleanser first to remove sunscreen and buildup, then follow with a water based cleanser to clean the skin itself.
Stay Hydrated Inside and Out
Dehydration shows on the skin quickly. Aim for 2 litres of water daily and add a hydrating serum to your morning routine before moisturiser. Hyaluronic acid works brilliantly for this.
Treat Yourself to a Summer Facial
A professional facial in the summer months can really transform your skin. We can remove congestion caused by increased sweating, replenish hydration, and address any sun damage that is beginning to show.
Do Not Forget Your Brows and Lashes
Summer is actually a great time to get a lash lift or brow lamination. You will look polished at the beach, pool, or on holiday without needing any makeup at all. Waterproof and worry free.
